The king cobra has a large range of food. It feeds on the Indian cobra, lizards, Banded krait, Rat snake, Pythons, Whip snake, Keelbak, Banded Wolf snake, Malabar pit-viper, Hump nosed pit-viper and even Clouded monitors! Sometimes they use their muscular bodies to constrict their prey.
The king cobra is not really aggressive. It usually sneaks off but it is known for raising its hood at enemies, like when they are incubating. When it does this it shows its long venomous fangs and hisses. When it bites it can hold on for about 8 minutes.
Boas have pits along the upper lip. These pit organs make it so they can find the exact location of warm blooded animals by the body heat.
Boas are constrictors, as well as bull snakes, king snakes, pythons and rat snakes. To constrict is to squeeze the prey until unconscious. When they have done that they eat their prey whole.
